Seized Car Auctions - The Online Auction You Havent Tried
Many people have been using online auctions such as Ebay, Yahoo, and Amazon to find deals at better-than-retail prices for almost a decade. In fact, it is hard to find somebody who has not purchased something from an online auction. However, there is a type of online auctions that has not been utilized to its full potential by the majority of internet users. That type of auction is seized car or police impound auctions.
All kinds of cars and other personal property are seized by the IRS, DEA, other law enforcement agencies, bankruptcy courts, and banks. These items are then sold at auctions to recuperate some of the money that was lost on them, or simply to clear inventory. Many times cars can be purchased at an auction for up to 95% off the retail value of the car, and all makes and models are available at these auctions.
Imagine, if you will, purchasing a 2006 Corvette from a dealership? Or, if speed is not your preference, imagine getting a hybrid? Does that seem like just a dream? When Corvettes are going for as much as $50,000 on Autotrader.com and Toyota hybrids over $20,000 I guarantee they are both out of my price range. However, what if you could get a Corvette for $2,500 or a Toyota Prius hybrid for $1,000? Now that is a little more affordable.
Obviously not every car sells for as steep a discount as that, but those are just some of the types of deals you can find at these auctions. Seized car auctions have been around for much longer than the internet, but the web makes them more accessible to the public. For those of us who would still prefer to see and touch our purchases before we pay for them (which is never a bad idea), there are many live auctions as well. So, if you are in the market for a new car do not forget to check out seized car auctions. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
