Amarillo Attractions - Cadillac Ranch

When you are visiting a city you have many attractions from which to choose. If you are visiting Amarillo this is just as true but there is one attraction that definitely stands out. It is one that you might have already heard about but will definitely talk about for years. That attraction is the Cadillac Ranch. Read this article to learn a little more about this attraction.

The Cadillac Ranch is the work of Amarillo millionaire Stanley Marsh III. It is made up of ten vintage Cadillacs dating from 1949 to 1964. The Cadillacs are covered in graffiti but what makes them special is the way they are presented. They are not parked in a neat row but instead are buried in the ground. They are basically planted in the ground face down buried all the way to the back seats. The Cadillac ranch was first constructed in 1974 by a San Francisco based group known as the Ant Farm and has since become one of the most famous of roadside attractions. Visitors love it and they are even allowed to add their own art to the display. You can actually use spray paint and markers to add your creative touches to the car. It is a very interesting attraction and one that you should be sure to go see. Just make sure you bring a camera.

If you would like to visit the Cadillac Ranch you can find it on Interstate 40 in Amarillo on the south frontage road between exits 60 and 62. It is open every day and admission is free. Have fun.
